new blog coming.......sorry for the wait!!
I know, I know- I haven't made an entry in ages and I'm sorry! I have a new blog currently under construction and it's just taking a lot longer than I had hoped. It will have very large pics so I am holding off as long as I can so that when it's up and running you will see huge pics. I have some gorgeous weddings to show you- namely Catherine & Jason's in Daylesford over a week ago. Catherine was a stunning bride so she really is worth the wait.
Please stay tuned and don't give up on me!

tim & julie 21st september 2008
Another wedding at a stunning location.
Tim & Julie had their wedding last Sunday
at Inglewood Estate in Kangaroo Ground on
the outskirts of Melbourne. It is a great spot- cute little
chapel and lake for lots of photo opportunities
without having to even leave the property.
We had gorgeous blue skies and these two were
very happy - as you can see! Dad got a bit teary
when his little girl first arrived. Very nice.
Don't you love Julie's red hair- just gorgeous.
Love their little candies they had on the tables too!

kosi & sarah 20th september 2008
Wow- what an emotional wedding. Shooting these spectacular
moments that Kosi & Sarah shared with their family
and friends made me get pretty teary too!
I don't think there was a dry eye in the house!
It was just so beautiful.
The wedding was held at the Sault in Daylesford
which is one of my favourite places to photograph
weddings. The location is stunning. It was a little
chilly but we braved the weather to get some
great pics at Lake Daylesford and also
amongst the Lavender rows at Sault.
I was there for entire reception which was also
full of emotion and a real honour to capture.
This couple were just so great together and didn't
stop smiling all day - even through the tears.
Amazing day and can't wait to show them all the pics.

brendan & mary 13th september 2008
Well- what a gorgeous day it was last Saturday.
It reached mid 20's for the first time in ages.
Brendan and Mary were fortunate enough to
have clear blue skies and an amazing sunset which
I just loved for thier photos. Mary was a gorgeous
Greek goddess! I just loved this couple. Very laid
back and lots of fun. We went to the
Docklands for our location pics and it's a
great place with lots of colour and open skies.
How cure are these kids? They were so well behaved
too- I was very impressed!!

derek & rhianon 23rd august 2008

I know I have gone a bit crazy with photos for this wedding- but there was so many pics I loved and wanted to share.
The wedding was held in Sunbury and the
reception was at Goonawarra Winery which is a
fabulous place. I always get fabulous photos there.
We were lucky for it now to rain and the sun
actually came out for a little while too.
Rhianon & Derek were like models!
She looks like she belongs on a magazine cover.
So easy to shoot and very photogenic.
We had lots of fun.
I am thrilled with these results.

John & Kim's wedding last year so I know where she
gets her fabulous genes from! She's 3 weeks old and already has
her own little personality. I loved the nursery with
her name on the wall.
I am also thrilled to announce that we are now offering

all your family and friends for their kind wishes

next stop england...
My husband's parents live on a property not far from York in England. North Yorkshire is such a beautiful part of the world.
This field full of wild poppies captured my attention.
It was only 2 min walk from the house and I just
had to photograph it. It's not a sight we see here in Australia.
Like us - dogs play a big part of their lives. At the top is
Jack and above is Poppy and Amy.
They have a pretty good life with lots of walks and their own
forest to stroll through!

This is our nephew Lucas - how cute is he? I just loved picking
raspberries with him and we also ate a few- hence his raspberry
coloured lips! While we were there the weather actually
warmed up enough for Lucas to have a paddle
in his pool- although I was told that the
water was freeeezing!

fraser & dana 15th august 2008

Remember these guys from January? Baby Ethan was
just a few weeks old and now look how much he has grown!

This is one of my favourite moments of every wedding - the
'hand over' when the bride arrives at the ceremony.
I love how happy they all are.
The wedding was at Nathania Springs in the Dandenongs so it was a little chilly! Dana had a gorgeous little cape to wear to warm up.
Little Ethan- I think he stole the show- how cute is he??
I love the blue of the bridesmaids.
These two were just so easy to photograph. They are both very laid back people and so much in love. Congrats you two!

I won't bore you with a million photos I took whilst overseas but I will just share a few from each of the places we visited. We were only on HongKong for one night but we did manage to see a few things and it was a fabulous place.

Nope - I have just returned from a fabulous trip overseas
from which I will post some pics very soon.
Whilst I was away Richard and Tammy's
gorgeous wedding was shot by
team photographer Emily Black and what fabulous
photos they are. Aren't the flower girls just gorgeous?!
I also love Tammy's stunning dress and also the
'just married' car which topped the cake.
Good to see things can carry on just as well
without me- or is that a worry??
Nah - just means I can have more holdiays.
Fantastic work Emily!

jeremy & bianca 7th june 2008

Jeremy & Bianca had their wedding on
in Mt Eliza. It was a stunning venue for
wedding photos and also there is a beach only
2 mins down the road which also made for
great photos without taking too much time
away from guests.
Apparently it's a nudist beach so lucky for us it's winter!
Bianca was a beautiful bride who hads heaps of fun in
front of the camera.
I love her long hair and wearing it down look fab
and framed her face perfectly.
It was quite a chilly day but the rain held
out and we got some lovely sunshine which was timed perfectly.

braydon, irene & caleb
back and now their family has grown to include baby Caleb
- and what a cutie he is! We braved the very cold Romsey day for these
family photos last week and what great results.
I really wanted a shot of Daddy with Caleb
in the leaves, but as you can see- Caleb didn't really fancy it!
Things don't always go as you plan but that's part of the
fun of working with children.
As you can see - he was smiling again only 2 mins later!

winners are grinners!

I am not a huge fan of being in front of the camera rather than behind it- however on this occasion I think it was worth it.
Last night at a Gala dinner in Kyneton Elise Gow Photography was named the winner of the 2008 Macedon Ranges Business Excellence Award for Excellence in Professional Services.
I was so excited and quite nervous when I went to collect the award and make a very small speech in front of heaps of people.
We are so excited to receive such a wonderful recognition and
love living in the Macedon Ranges.
Thanks to all our clients for their ongoing support!!

jeremy & andrea 17th may 2008

3 words spring to mind when thinking of Jeremy and Andrea's
wedding on Saturday: WET WET WET!!!
It was also freezing cold. It just prooves though-
however cold or rainy it is - fabulous
photos and lots of fun can still be acheived.
I just love these photos - from the muddy red carpet
and all the puddles
to the guy walking his dog on the beach
and the vintage red bridal bus.
It tells the true story of their day
which included lots of love and laughter.
The ceremony was held at the beautiful Rippon Lea
which still looked stunning depsite the weather.
Some hot chocolates from Amello's
at the St Kilda Sea Baths warmed us us enough to
brave the beach for some amazing photos.
Reception was held at Red Scooter
which is a unique venue with a huge WOW factor!
Red velvet curtains, yummy food and friendly staff-
what a great combo!
it's coming......
Our brand new Studio Gallery at Essendon Airport
is nearly finished. I am soooo excited.
I will post some photos of it as soon as it's ready.
We have some gorgeous new products which will be
on display and we're now taking appointment
bookings for the week starting June 2nd 2008.

steve & zoe 14th May 2008

Steve & Zoe had their wedding in Bendigo last Saturday.
It was a beautiful autumn day with the sun shining- finally!
Steve is a huge VW fan and the weddings cars were
all Volkswagons! They looked fabulous and made
for great pics. The ceremony was held at the stunning
Bendigo Cathedral with the reception at the
Boardwalk at Lake Weeroona.
It was a great day with lots of love and laughter.

michael & helen 3rd may 2008

There are so many pics in this blog entry because I found it
so hard to narrow down my favourites!!
I just love these pics from Michael & Helen's wedding
is a stunning venue and great photo opportunities every
which way you turn! It was such a lovely wedding and
Michael & Helen were relaxed and full of happiness.
They were so easy to photograph and even though it was
slightly chilly day and overcast it still made for amazing photos.
Lake Daylesford was another great spot for pics and the sun
also made an appearance which highlighted the gorgeous
autumn colours beautifully.
Don't you just love Helen's ugboots?!
The cupcakes were delightful too.
I also love the little jackets for the flower girls.
I have more weddings coming up at Sault and I can't wait!

derek & rhianon- engagement shoot
How lucky am I to be shooting their wedding in August?!?
We shot these pics last week and the weather has turned
quite wintery here all of a sudden it seems. It was a stormy
afternoon and it was quite chilly but it gave me some
great lighting opportunities. Engagement portrait sessions are
becoming more popular with my couples. It's a great way to
become familiar with your wedding photographer and also
makes for great gifts to be presented to parents during the actual
wedding day speeches.
If you have booked your wedding through us later this year
or early 2009 and are interested in an engagement portrait
session contact us for more details.
I can't wait for Derek & Rhianon's wedding!

ric & christy 26th april 2008

.....5 mins before the bride was to arrive all the guests were outside braving the weather and keeping fingers crossed that the threatening clouds would not open!

...2 mins later everyone grabbed there chair and ran for cover - even Gran!

Once everyone was safely inside the bride arrived and it was such a beautiful ceremony and full of emotion which I just adore.
The rest of the day was spent running in and out of the rain and getting
pics outside when it was dry and inside when it was raining.
We got some great shots and we all had lots of fun too.
Christy & Ric were so laid back and nothing stressed them out
which is always lovely. They smiled and laughed all day
whether it was pouring with rain or not. They chose to have lollies
instead of a cake- what a great idea!

daniel & jayne 25th april 2008

Daniel and Jayne had their wedding on Anzac Day at thegorgeous Hurlstone Gardens in Shepparton.
It was a bright sunny day and suprisingly warm-
guests were actually looking for spots in the shade.
It was a midday ceremony which was a little
different but it worked really well and
I liked the idea of the guests sitting chatting all
afternoon at the reception- great idea!
We had lots of fun and got some great photographs.
This couple were very relaxed and were
easy to photographed- they even played up to the camera
which is always fun.
I am looking forward to designing their album
with all these beautiful autumn colours.

YAY! We have a new member of our photography team
Manuela Cifra who shot these beautiful pics of
Daniel & Leeanne's wedding last weekend.
Manuela is a fabulous photographer who shoots
for the Herald Sun here in Melbourne
and will be shooting even more
weddings for us in the future.
Welcome Manny - we are thrilled to have you on board!
Daniel and Leeane got married in Bacchus Marsh
and held their wedding reception at the recently
refurbished historic homestead at
Eynesbury Golf Club.
It is a stunning spot and great for wedding photos too.
It looks like baby Chelsea stole the show but who can blame her?
Can't wait to see more pics from Manny in the future.

mark & sandra 12th April 2008
Mark & Sandra we such a fun & romantic couple!
Just so great ot photograph!!
which was a stunning location and a wedding photographers
dream. The gorgeous colours of autumn topped
things perfectly. I just love this time of year.
It's generally not too hot or not too cold and the light is
beautiful especially when it's shining through leaves
on trees which are changing colour.

WOW - look how these little guys have grown up!
These pop art styled portraits were taken way back in 2004. Mitchell & Tahnee were quite small then.
Just look how much they have grown!

They have also welcomed little sister Emily who looks exactly like Tahnee when she was the same age. Emily was a real cutie with many cheeky faces. We all had lots of fun! We took the portraits on the Murray River at Echuca Moama - it's such a great spot for photos and the light that afternoon was just perfect.

warwick & lindy 5th April 2008

Warwick & Lindy held their wedding last weekend in Echuca.
It was a beautiful autumn day and we all had
fun as well as getting some great photos.
The bridesmaids were wearing green dresses
with gorgeous orange toned bouquets.
Isn't the wedding cake gorgeous?
- Lindy made it herself- isn't she clever?
Lindy's Mum Cheryl also made all of the dresses.
Creativity must run in their family!
Bridal party and wedding guests sailed off into
the sunset down the Murray River on a
paddlesteamer for the reception
and a perfect end to their day.

lovely thank you..
What a great way to begin work on a Monday morning with
this email waiting in my inbox.
Thanks Jess & Brad- you have made my morning!
Hi Elise,
We wanted to say thanks so much for all your work!! It was an absolute pleasure having you as a part of our wedding day. It was fantastic that you could be a part of such fun day, and that you captured that fun in the photographs too!!
Having the ability to check out the photos online so soon after the wedding is such a wonderful feature!! It was great to check them out while we were still on the honeymoon in the middle of the South Pacific.
We thought the album proofs were amazing, but the real thing is so much more than we could have ever wished for. We can't stop looking at the album, particularly the cover the texture and the image are so amazing!! So many people get a wedding album and put it away, but with the quality of your work and the final product, there is no way this is going in the cupboard, it will be on display for everyone to see. It will definitely be going on an easel in the new house!
The brag books are fantastic too!! Mum almost cried when we gave her hers, we had kept it a surprise which made her reaction even more special. She takes it everywhere she goes. Brad’s parents are away and still don’t know they are getting one, we can’t wait to give it to them when they get home in a few weeks, it will be perfect for them to take on their travels in the caravan.
Everyone who has seen the album loves it, and they are kicking themselves that they didn't book you, the others are happy they have listened to our advice and booked you.
Thanks again for such a wonderful job!! We love your work!!!!
Cheers,
Brad & Jess Watt

ben & leticia 29th march 2008

The weather may have been stormy up in Shepparton
for last weekend's wedding but it didn't
dampen anyone's spirits!
Leticia was a true Brazilian beauty and
not surprisingly Ben
was completely besotted by her.
These two were lots of fun to photograph
not to mention the 10 strong Aussie & Brazilian
members of the bridal party.
I love the tiara that wrapped around
Leticia's head and framed her gorgeous eyes.
I also loved the figurines of them on their wedding cake.
They were perfect right down to the
flowers the bride is holding!
Apparently it came all the way from Brazil.

on the banks of the Murray River
in Moama which caters for many weddings
every year and is a stunning location.
They must see lots of photographers
and I was honoured that they chose
me to shoot their wedding photos.
It was a stinking hot day in Echuca/Moama
with the temp reaching over 40 degress,
however the shade of the towering
gum tress made it bearable.
The couple were surrounded by their family and friends
and in prime position in the bridal party was their dog Oscar.
They were relaxed and easy to photograph.
A great day all round.
Thanks guys!- Have a great Easter.

fabulous feedback!
Working 7 days a week in the midst of my busiest time of year is totally exahusting. However once in a while you get an email like this and it really does make it all worthwhile. Thanks Carla- you have made my day.Hi Elise,
Just thought that I would send you an email to say a HUGE thank-you for all of your hard work on our wedding day.
We arrived back and had a look at the photos on your website and we were absolutely blown away with every one of them.
We have had everyone text, call and email to let us know how much trouble they are having choosing which ones to order. We have already had friends get your number to meet with you for their upcoming weddings.
Adrian and I and our bridal party had so much fun at the sea baths and everybody has commented on how professional you were.
You have an amazing talent and truly captured both of our personalities on the day; we feel so lucky to have found you to photograph our wedding and can’t wait to see the proofs.
Cheers
Carla

Thankfully the weather was a little more forgiving.
There was a slight haze over the sky which
created a gorgeous diffused sunlight for all our location photos.
The ceremony was held at St Mary's Basilica
in Bannockburn just out of Geelong.
The vineyard was a breathtaking location
and a dream for any wedding photographer.
We got some lovely images in and around
the vines and surrounding panoramic views.

phil & tammy

Phil & Tammy held their wedding last Friday at
in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges.
We are in the midst of a heatwave here in Melbourne.
It did reach 39 degrees but luckily we were in the shade
and it was quite bearable!
Tammy was a stunning bride and they were both easy
and natural to photograph.
The nearby Sherbrooke Forest was also a good spot
for photos with the very tall trees
creating a great backdrop.

tim & natashia

Tim & Natashia held their wedding over 2 days in Melbourne last week which gave us plenty of opportunities for fabulous photos.
Natashia was a stunning bride in red on Day 1 then in hot pink on Day 2.
On Day 1 the ceremony was held in the Botanical Gardens followed by a traditonal Chinese Tea Ceremony which was a real privelidge to witness and photograph.
Day 2 was the main photoshoot which began at ACCA
and finished at Birrarung Mar.
A spectacular Melbourne blue sky teamed with strong bold colours made
for some powerful images and also a lot of fun!
A party for their friends and family was held at
Champions at Federation Square which was a stunning venue.
The planning behind this 2 day wedding extravaganza
was enormous and the attention to detail was mind blowing.
Well done to both Tim & Natashia and thanks for the honour of
choosing me to photograph it!

Kristy & Ben held their wedding in Shepparton last Saturday.
We got some historic pics at the Shepp Lake which has been drained

changing colours you can see above.
I love these pics - new age wedding photography!
It's a very busy wedding period and I'm currently
shooting 9 weddings in 17 day period,

Baby Cooper arrived a little earlier than expected which was a surprise to all. He is a little cutie and big brother Kian is pretty happy to
have someone to play with!
The photoshoot was a gift from a friend - which is a fabulous idea.
Contact us if you would like to arrange a photoshoot as a gift
- you will be a very popular friend!
Mick & Jenna

We travel statewide to shoot weddings and Echuca/Moama on the Murray River in Northern Victoria is a beautiful spot for wedding photography. We love it there and shoot quite a few weddings there. Everywhere you turn there is a fabulous photo opportunity! I also got married there a few years back, so I have an extra soft spot for this gorgeous border town and the river. Mick & Jenna with their bridal party had a great time and we got some great pics. Wednesday, February 27, 2008

I am so pleased with them all.
I have some friends getting married this year and they are
kicking themselves they haven't booked you.
We are back to the reality of work now after a fab break in Thailand.
I am going to have a really difficult time choosing photos
for the album, I love them all!
Thanks again, Bianca and Brian"

These guys were so great to photograph. Ceremony was held at St Michaels in Melbourne which made for some great pics, especially the panoramic pic of the inside of the church. We then went to Birrarung Mar for more wedding photos before heading to the reception at Quat Quatta. Lovely venue, great for photos and friendly staff. Melbourne is such a fabulous backdrop for wedding photography with photo opportunities around every corner if you know where to look!Monday, February 11, 2008
brenden & kate

The Lakehouse in Daylesford was the stunning location for this wedding last September. It was a small intimate wedding yet quite emotional and fantastic to photograph and be a part of.
The pics of the two ladies is their Mum's at the end of the ceremony.
What a great moment.
Marcus & Kasey
the weekend off - yay!
Thought I would take this chance to share some wedding pics
from last year before the BLOG began.
Marcus & Kasey got married in the Goulburn Valley.
I just love country weddings and who can blame me - look at that amazing blue sky!

bianca & brian

Another stunning Melbourne summer's day and another stunning wedding. Bianca & Brian came all the way from the UK for their wedding held at the St Kilda Botanic Gardens and followed by the cocktail style reception at the gorgeous Riva at St Kilda Marina.
I love being a Melbourne wedding photographer and who can blame me with locations like this one at St Kilda Beach. It was a great day and guests were friendly and welcoming.
Thanks to Bianca & Brian and safe travels back to the UK.

peter & rachel

A lovely Australia Day wedding held in the morning before it got too hot, good choice! I arrived to do pics of Rachel and Peter at 8am so thanks to everyone for getting up so early for me and being on time! The light on the beach at Port Melbourne was stunning at that time and it was completely empty which was ideal.
Pics from Peter & Rachel's are now online so friends
and guests please go to:

bright-eyed newborn

Apparently this little guy sleeps a lot, well he was wide awake for my visit! We eventually got him to close his eyes on Dad's chest at the end of the session, but even then he was still fighting to stay awake. Perhpas he just didn't want to miss out on anything.. he was a real cutie. Very laid back new parents too which makes my job easy.Wednesday, January 23, 2008

old favourites
While I have a moment ( just one!) I thought I would post a few old favourites to keep the blog updating. It's definitely a challenge to post something daily, but I will try to keep on top of it a bit more!
What a guilty grin!
This little lady was a real stunner...
Below are some shots of a brother & sister I took when I first met them...
Then I went back again and what a difference!

Another stunning location for photos: Bellinzona at Hepburn Springs just near Daylesford. I just love living in this part of the world and still close enough to Melbourne.

christmas bub

Welcome to the first ever entry on the Elise Gow Photography blog!
I hope you all had a great Christmas and are hopefully enjoying some time off.
I am thrilled to begin with a bub that arrived just in time for Christmas. I just love taking photos of newborns and she was a real cutie.
Looking forward to bringing more pics for you to see throughout 2008.
Happy New Year to you all!

Another great wedding. The rain held out enough time for us to get some great shots down the waterfront in Geelong. Don't you just love the 'Tiffany" blue of the bridesmaids dresses!
